TEFL Training Center
 |
The training center in Phuket is located just a ten-minute walk from the beach and around the corner from an open-air market. The building offers on-site wi-fi, printing and copy services, air conditioning, and a very friendly and helpful staff. Trainees will find plenty to do and to eat in the surrounding area: a four-star resort directly across the street provides its pool for student use, and nearby restaurants serve everything from phad thai, to locally-caught seafood, to the best breakfast on the island. |
A unique aspect of this TEFL course is that trainees can work with an educational foundation that provides teachers for the local schools and coordinates after-school programs for disadvantaged youth. Helping the local community and spending time with the children is a highlight for many TEFL trainees.
Phuket, Thailand
The picturesque island of Phuket is quickly becoming one of Thailand's premier travel destinations. Famous for its pristine white sand beaches stretching along the warm waters of the Andaman Sea, Phuket is a haven for water sports, including snorkeling, diving, fishing, sailing, and more.
Located on the west coast of the island, Surin is one of Phuket’s quieter beach towns. Tucked away from the bustle of larger tourist destinations, Surin has a relaxing and friendly atmosphere that is conducive to study. Students can spend the weekends in town, walk to the beach, or hop over to Patong, the island’s largest city for some nightlife. Overnight tours to some of the neighboring islands are also possible.

The TEFL course here was a great experience. I learned a great deal about effective teaching techniques and the grammar review was very helpful. I use the ideas and techniques I developed during the course all the time; from beginners to intermediate and advanced students! Of course learning in Thailand was pretty cool also!

A lot of research went in to choosing my TEFL training course but it was definitely worth the effort. The course location was fab! We went through all my prior concerns during the 4 weeks and all the teaching practice left me feeling confident enough to get up in front of a class. I've probably made some friends for life as well - bonus! Highly recommended!
