CELTA Training Center
 |
The CELTA training center is located in a sparkling new office building on Moscow Square just a few steps from Castle Hill, home to the baroque architecture of the Buda Castle and many other historical landmarks. School facilities include a complete teacher training library, a self-access room equipped with eight computers with Internet access, and a photocopier/printer. There is also a large teachers’ room, a snack bar, several sitting areas, and twenty classrooms. |
Our CELTA trainers have extensive experience as English teachers and as teacher trainers not just in Budapest but all over the world. As is the case with all CELTA trainers, each has been trained and approved in line with Cambridge ESOL requirements, and all of our trainers are involved in ongoing professional development. Our trainers work as a team on our courses throughout the year, which gives our CELTA program exceptional strength and continuity.
Budapest, Hungary
Located in central Hungary, Budapest is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world thanks to its striking baroque architecture and its location along the Danube River. The city is divided into two parts: elegant Buda is home to rambling, narrow streets on the hills above the west side of the river, while the more modern and cosmopolitan Pest spreads out onto the Great Plain in the east. Budapest’s many museums, cafes, parks, and cinemas will keep you entertained during your free time in the city.
Known as the “City of Spas,” Budapest is home to thermal hot-springs, and adding to the city’s unique character are many 16th-century Turkish bath houses. In addition to visiting the baths, a favorite local activity is to head to the riverfront at sunset and enjoy the views of the impressive castle. You can also explore the gothic Royal Palace on Castle Hill or browse the extensive collection of Hungarian paintings in the National Gallery. Budapest boasts a lively café culture, plenty of nightlife, and endless acres of forested hills for walking and jogging just outside of town.
| Teaching English in Hungary |
The demand for English teachers in Budapest continues to be very high, in particular for freelance teachers who are willing to travel around the city to teach classes in various language schools and companies. As is the case in all European Union countries, non-EU citizens need to consider some of the bureaucratic aspects of working in Hungary. However, many organizations will help facilitate the process, thus enabling a large number of Americans, Canadians, and Australians to teach there. The CELTA training center also offers support in finding teaching positions worldwide.

| “If you're thinking of doing CELTA, then Budapest is THE place to do it. It was quite intensive, but very rewarding, and it certainly equipped me for life as an EFL teacher. The school is a short tram ride from the city centre, so when you have a spare moment, you can get out there and explore one of the most exciting cities in the new Europe.” |

| “What made the course special for me was the great atmosphere created by the trainers and staff at the school. The trainers were always supportive and enthusiastic. The CELTA course was very hard work but immensely rewarding. Doing the course in Budapest in particular was a great experience. The city has a lot to offer in the way of nightlife and culture.” |
