CELTA Training Center
The CELTA training center in the heart of Sevilla offers over 35 classrooms, video and lecture rooms, a multi-media study center, a library and a language specialty bookshop. Trainee teachers will have full access to school facilities, including a well-stocked study room and library, a mini-library of TEFL methodology books, free computer and internet access and free photocopying.
All CELTA trainers are experienced teachers and trainers who have undergone an extensive trainer-in-training program. They are practicing teachers of English who divide their time between teaching and training. Trainers take part in ongoing training programs, such as conferences and in-house development sessions, in order to stay on the cutting edge of the ELT profession.
Sevilla, Spain
Closer to northern Africa than the rest of Europe, and more authentically Spanish than other cities, Sevilla is the artistic and cultural capital of Southern Spain. Whether you want to take a siesta in the heat of the afternoon or stroll down narrow backstreets untouched by modern stresses, you will find an abundance of Spain’s unique history and, culture—and plenty of ways to entertain yourself between CELTA classes.
Once a commercial sea port for the Romans, the fruits of Sevilla’s international success are seen everywhere, from the Cathedral of Sevilla ornately decorated with riches from the Spanish New World to the Moorish palace of Alcazar. As the setting for the story of Don Juan, Sevilla enjoys the color and vivacity of its own flamenco music and the piety of beautiful Easter Holy Week processions. In the evenings, the orange tree-lined streets and plazas fill with people enjoying a lively social life that goes on until morning.
Teaching
English in Spain
Unlike many European Union countries, the majority of Spain’s citizens still speak only one language. In an increasingly multicultural market, this translates into a quickly increasing need for quality English instruction as well as abundant opportunities for TEFL teachers.
Teaching positions pay very well in Spain and, with a relatively low cost of living compared to the rest of Western Europe, English instructors can live very pleasantly. TEFL jobs tend to be plentiful throughout the nation, including a variety of employment opportunities in Sevilla.
