TEFL Training Center
Located right in the city center of Chania—the cultural
capital of Crete—the TEFL training center is close
to shops, banks, public gardens, and the charming Old
Market. The facility features a fully equipped resource
room with teaching materials, reference books, course
books, and a small library of literature and TEFL books
that you can borrow and read in your spare time.
As a TEFL trainee in Chania, you will have access to computers
with high-speed Internet, a fully equipped kitchen and
dining room, a washing machine, two balconies, and a huge
terrace on the top of the building where you can socialize
with fellow trainees, prepare your lessons—and sunbathe
at the same time!
Crete, Greece
The largest of the Greek Isles, the island of Crete is
home to a strikingly blue sea, sandy and rocky beaches,
fertile valleys green with vineyards and olive trees,
and the majestic White Mountains rising from its center.
Crete separates the Aegean from the Libyan sea, marking
the boundary between Europe and Africa. This ideal location
gives the island its lovely Mediterranean climate with
300 days of sunshine a year.
The home base of our TEFL training center, Chania is a city known for its fascinating blend of ancient and modern. From the surrounding Venetian and Byzantine walls and
the narrow winding streets of old town, to the bars and
clubs that make up its active nightlife, Chania has
both historic beauty and modern amenities. Enjoy a day
at the beach, a traditional meal in an old town taverna
featuring live lyra music, or a trip to a nearby mountain
village—all while getting TEFL certified!
Teaching English
in Greece
 |
A member of the EU, Greece’s economy was significantly
bolstered by the adoption of the Euro as currency in 2002.
Greece is heavily dependent on tourism to support this
growth, which means that the demand for English teachers
has been on the rise. Thanks to a relatively low cost
of living compared to the rest of Western Europe, English
instructors in Greece can live very comfortably. There
is also the lucrative option of teaching private lessons
to supplement your income. TEFL jobs are available across
the country—including on many of the islands—with
a concentration in the capital city of Athens. |

“I
had an incredible experience. The coursework was rigorous
and truly stretched me as a teacher. I learned skills
and teaching strategies that I use to this day. I made
good friends and enjoyed the warm and laid back atmosphere
in Crete. [My trainer’s] feedback was on-point
and constructive and her support was unwavering.”

“I had a fantastic experience in Greece.
What made the experience even better was the location—great
hospitality, Greek food, Greek weather, and based in
a nice harbour town called Chania. In between the hard
work I had a lot of fun making friends with the other
trainees and exploring the beautiful island. I would
definitely recommend [it]!”

“I can truly say that my four-week course…
was amazing. [The TEFL trainer] gave me so much
support and belief in myself as a teacher. The course
was both life-changing and inspiring. For me, it helped
me to discover a true passion for teaching, which is
so rewarding. The whole team was so helpful and encouraging.
It was one of the most amazing times of my life, and
I would happily do it again, and again.” |
