“I have only the best possible things to say about the program. Thanks to my BridgeTEFL CELTA, I landed a very well-paying job with a Saudi Arabian university. My CELTA training provided me with incredible insights not only about teaching English but also my own teaching style. The BridgeTEFL placement staff assisted me tremendously to find a suitable position within a matter of days (hours actually!) of graduation. I wholeheartedly recommend BridgeTEFL’s program to anyone seeking CELTA certification.” |

The CELTA program is the most widely recognized TEFL certificate program in the world. Over the course of four weeks and 120 hours of work, candidates will become familiar with the principles of successful teaching and begin to develop
the skills they need to teach adult learners effectively. Upon course completion, you will be qualified to teach English in classrooms across the globe.
The CELTA course is an intensive training program that includes teaching practice with real language learners, classroom observation of experienced teachers, and several written assignments. The course is designed for candidates with no previous English teaching experience, but is also suitable for those who have some experience but no formal training in the TEFL field.
CELTA Course Goals
By the end of the CELTA course, trainees will:
| |
• Acquire essential subject knowledge about the English language.
• Develop a range of practical skills for teaching English to adult learners.
• Know how to lead a communicative, student-centered class.
• Feel prepared to teach using a variety of materials and techniques. |
CELTA Course Content
| |

professionals
• Six hours of practice teaching with real language learners from the local
community
• Trainers who guide you through every step of the way including observing
your peer teaching and practice teaching
• Instruction and practice in teaching the four basic language skills (reading,
writing, speaking, and listening) and subskills (vocabulary, pronunciation, and

• Instruction and practice in lesson planning

components of their work:
| |
• Teaching practice and lesson planning
• Written assignments |
During the program, each trainee will teach a minimum of six hours of classes with real language learners. These classes are observed both by trainers and fellow trainees; the trainers’ evaluations constitute part of the final grade. Trainees will also complete four assessed written assignments, each normally being between 750 and 1000 words long.
