CELTA Training Center
The CELTA training center is located in the heart of Playa del Carmen, just 50 yards from the town's main shopping thoroughfare and a 5 minute walk from the beach. The colonial style building has 12 air-conditioned classrooms, a computer lounge, and wi-fi internet access throughout.
CELTA trainees can spend free time relaxing in the school's garden or terrace. There are also plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars nearby. Almost everything in town is located within walking distance, and public transportation is cheap and readily available.
Playa del Carmen, Mexico
Playa del Carmen is a relaxed beach town on Mexico's Caribbean coast, just south of Cancun. Known simply as "Playa" to locals, it offers dazzling white-sand beaches and plenty of bars and restaurants, while maintaining a far less hectic atmosphere than many Mexican resort towns. Playa's friendly vibe, beautiful coastline, and pleasant weather make it an excellent place to get your CELTA certification.
There is plenty to do on the weekends in Playa del Carmen. You can rent a canopy bed and simply relax on one of the many beaches, or you can spend the day exploring the shops along Quinta Avenida. Scuba diving and snorkeling opportunities are numerous, as the second-largest coral reef system, the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, is just offshore. Tulum, a famous Mayan archeological site, is about an hour south of town.
