Some people prefer the traditional classroom courses in order to get familiar with the place they would like to teach and be able to interact face to face with their teachers and peers.

Situated on Northern Ireland’s beautiful northern coast, Belfast is rapidly transforming into a hip and vibrant modern city. New restaurants, bars and shops are opening at an amazingly quick pace and, although tourism is on the rise, Belfast still maintains its character as a more relaxing and authentic alternative to its southern neighbor, Dublin.
While you get your CELTA certification, you will find plenty to see and do in Belfast. You can tour the shipyard where the Titanic was built or visit the shops in Victoria Square, the latest urban regeneration project in the city center. Belfast is also home to a large number of fascinating murals, located throughout the city’s residential neighborhoods. Belfast locals are warm and welcoming and the city center is small enough to be explored by foot, making Belfast an inviting place to study and teach.
Although the cost of living in both countries is relatively high, there are plenty of English language instruction jobs throughout the island. CELTA graduates will find the highest concentration of jobs in Dublin, although there are opportunities throughout both countries. The peak season for teaching English here is from June to September, during the summer holiday months when private language institutes experience higher enrollment.
The CELTA is the certification to have for anyone interested in teaching in Ireland, and taking it in Belfast provides such advantages that doing so is always highly recommended.
