CELTA Training Center
The CELTA training center is located in a distinctive 4-story building in the center of Barcelona. CELTA classrooms are air conditioned and are located on the first floor. There is a library and study room that is open all week as well as on Saturday mornings, and a computer lab for student use. Students can access the building's wireless network during their course.
CELTA trainees will find plenty to do and see in the vicinity of the training center. The center is just a short walk from Plaza Catalunya, which is considered to be the center of the city and where many of the most important streets converge. La Rambla, a series of tree-lined streets that house many restaurants and shops, is a popular tourist destination and also just a short walk from the school.
Barcelona, Spain
From surreal architecture, to a beautiful waterfront, to a nightlife that never stops, Barcelona has it all. Located on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, Barça (as it is known by locals) is the capital of Spain's autonomous region of Catalonia, and a major cultural hub in Western Europe. Most of Barcelona's inhabitants speak both Spanish and Catalan, and are immensely proud of their Catalan identity.
There is no shortage of places to explore during your CELTA course in Barcelona. The city is compact, but its distinct neighborhoods each offer a different vibe. You can visit Antonio Gaudi's Parc Guell and spend an afternoon with the locals in one of the lively plazas in Gràcia. The vibrant area El Raval is home to the Contemporary Art Museum, as well as many fine restaurants and cafes. However you choose to spend your free time, Barcelona offers endless possibilities while you get your CELTA certification!
Teaching
English in Spain
CELTA graduates will find that teaching jobs are plentiful throughout Spain. While many of Spain's citizens still speak only one language, they recognize the need for English in an increasingly global market. This means that the demand for quality English instruction is high. There are more than 500 language institutes in and around Barcelona, making it a particularly good place to teach.
Many English teachers in Spain will find work teaching at various businesses to professionals.
